Electric Orange.

Instead of ditching our bedside lamps completely, a good friend and designer suggested painting them.   And here you have them… electric orange!

Before...

After…

And my silly little monkey, who wanted to get involved…

I love the way these turned out.  The bright accent of color is just what our room needed.  The next to go are those super dark and bulky bedside tables.  Hoping it doesn't take me another 10 months to pick them out.

Have a great weekend y'all!

A serious treat.

If you know me, you know I have a serious sweet tooth.  It's a problem.  So, it's been really hard cutting out gluten and processed sugar completely from my diet. Until these little nuggets came into my life…

Dark Chocolate Almond Butter Cups

1/2 cup Natural Almond Butter (homemade or store-bought)
2 tbsp Grade B maple syrup
1/2 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
1/4 tsp Sea Salt
7 oz Dark Chocolate (at least 70% cacao)

In a small bowl, stir together the almond butter, maple syrup, vanilla extract and salt until smooth.  Place in freezer while you make the chocolate coating.

Finely chop the chocolate.  Place in a double boiler or a pot of simmering water with a heat proof bowl resting over top, making sure the water doesn't touch the bottom of the bowl.  Heat over medium-low heat until chocolate is melted, stirring occasionally.

Place 12 mini cupcake liners in a mini cupcake tin or use rubber molds (I found mine at Ikea for $1). Spool one teaspoon of melted chocolate into each liner or mold.  Take the almond butter filling and scoop out 1 teaspoon, forming into a ball, then flatten.  Place in the center of the melted chocolate and cover with another teaspoon of melted chocolate, or until covered.  Top with cacao nibs or coarse sea salt.  Place in the fridge to set.

So easy and seriously delicious.  I try to keep my fridge and office stocked with these so I never feel tempted to go for the bad stuff!

Launched!

New Year + New Website.  I'm feeling so incredibly proud/blessed/excited to announce that Worboys Design's new website has launched!!

Sadly, this poor website hadn't been updated visually since 2008.  So I'm beyond excited to see this website FINALLY go live after years of "talk" about updating it.  I'm so proud of the entire WD crew who helped put this baby together.  I would still be talking about it without you.  Well done, team!!

This whole process has really made me sit back and feel extremely proud of what WD has accomplished over the past 8 years.  We've built  amazing partnerships with long time clients, worked on new, exciting projects and helped friends build their new businesses.  And it could not be more rewarding.  It was hard to give in to the idea of letting go of the design work to focus on building the business but I've found the most INCREDIBLE design team that I love working with every single day.

So, if you have a chance, please take a quick moment to click around and see what we've been up to :)

CHECK IT OUT!

Bring on 2014 - I can't wait to see where it takes us all!

Wisteria Coffee Table.

It's taken me almost a year to pick her out, but I finally pulled the trigger and she arrived today.  I'm in love!  This hand hammered gold leaf frame and white marble top from Wisteria is so pretty and its open frame doesn't cover up my favorite rug in our home… just perfect!

Now I have to figure out how to style it!

Cheers to 2014 :)
