The Baby Post.

I was putting together a list of my baby "couldn't live withouts" for a friend and thought I'd share it here as well.  The first couple months are usually a blur.  It feels like one long, continuos day that never really ends... until you hit your stride and it clicks!  With the help of a super happy, laid back baby and these items, we've breezed through the first 5 months with C.

(I. Cant. Believe. She's. 5. Months.)

1. Freshly Picked Mocs - They're ridiculously cute and go with everything.  Enough said.

2. Bebe Au Lait Nursing Cover - I managed to get through 5.5 months of nursing with Winslow without EVER doing it in public.  I didn't have that luxury this time around.  I loved this nursing cover because it came in a muslin fabric and was much easier to deal with than the stiffer cotton.

3. H&M Wrap Bodysuit - Both of my little lost their minds when pulling anything over their heads.  So these were a must.  Cheap, soft, and nicely fitted.  I find that Baby Gap's bodysuits are made for chunkier babes.  They always fit way too baggy and short for my minis.

4. Nose Frida - God Bless the Swedish for creating a nose sucker that actually works.  I rate this a 10, while I rate the ball syringe a big fat 0.  Just don't forget to put the sponge piece in it.  Eek!

5. Little Twig Body Lotion - I love this line of baby products.  They're all natural, organic and they smell like a dream.  I also love the detangler which glides through my teenager/3.5 year old's hair.

6. Zutano Booties - The best.  Socks never made it longer than 2 minutes on my minis' feet.  They're active lil things and kicked them off way too easily.  These booties are adorable, come in different materials and stay on their feet beautifully.

7. CottonOn Dribble Bibs - First it's spit up because they can't figure out how to keep it down.  Then it's drool because they start teething for a year straight.  Winslow had a bib on at all times, covering up her sweet little outfits.  Such a bummer.  These dribble bibs were a gift from my sister for Collins and work seamlessly with an outfit.  They provide the spit up/drool coverage you need with the terry cloth on the inside.  I've tried other brands similar to this, but there's something special about this brand, the way they're cut and sit more like a chic scarf than a bandana.  Yes, I've become a dribble bib connoisseur!

8. Love to Dream Transition Swaddle - My kids are swaddle kids.  They basically demand it.  Till they're like 8 months old.  They're arms are out of control and they manage to wake themselves up or accidentally throw their pacifiers across the room at a sudden twitch.  They love to be swaddled.  Both hit a point around 4 months when they needed to be swaddled, arms down, but would go to battle to keep their arms out.  These swaddles were given to me by a friend and they were like a little gift from heaven.  My minis can keep their arms in and under control but still have them up by their heads.  And when I lose the battle to keep them in, I can easily unzip to let those little arms out.  Genius.

9. Water Wipes - 99.9% purified water.  Effective at keeping bottoms clean, but gentle enough to use on their faces.  No chemicals to irritate that precious, perfect skin.

10. Honest Healing Balm - They've done a amazing job with this line of products.  I love just about everything they've created, except those fancy diapers that I can't afford.  "They're cute" isn't a good enough reason to pay the extra money.  So those drive me crazy.  But this Healing Balm is in every bag and drawer in the house.  It can be used for just about everything under the sun... diaper rash, craddle cap, dry spots, chapped lips, boo boos....

11. Fisher Price Rock and Play - I'm not sure how to properly hammer this home but... this will change your life.  It's the perfect angle for babies with reflux.  It rocks and vibrates.  It folds up and makes it easy to take to kidless friend's homes.  My minis napped like a dream in this and Collins actually slept in it, by our bed, for the first 3.5 months.  Everything about it is perfect.  When C would fuss in the middle of the night, I'd reach over, give it a couple rocks till she was content again, never once breaking REM sleep.  No one talks about how amazing this contraption is, but let me tell you. Hands down, must have.

12. Pottery Barn Stroller Blanket - I loved getting these as gifts and giving them as gifts.  I am partial this one from Pottery Barn specifically because it's softer than soft.  And it's monogrammed. You can never have too many stroller blankets and this one got us through the colder months out and about in the fresh air.

I hope that helped any soon to be mommas or for gift ideas!

My 5 Beauty Favs.

Josie Maran Argan Daily Moisturizer  | .5oz $14 |  This stuff is amazing.  Denver is insanely dry, so my skin and hair need serious moisture.  This goes on pretty light, but sinks right in and layers great with makeup.  Free of parabens, synthetic dyes and fragrances, sulfates and all sorts of other nasty stuff, and contains 40 SPF.  Love.

Too Faced Beauty Balm in Nude Glow | $32 | Another amazing product that I couldn't live without right now.  I've tried other Beauty Balms, but most left me looking grey and were super thick.  This one goes on much lighter and blends nicely.  On most days, this is the only thing that goes on my face. A multi-benefit BB cream that tints, primes, nourishes, prevents and protect skin in one easy step.

NARS Blush in Dolce Vita - Dusty Rose | $28 | I never go wild with blush, so I needed something subtle for everyday wear.  This blush is so pretty, with soft pink/bronze highlights and simply makes me look like I've been in the sun a bit too long.  A teeny bit goes a long way.

Philosophy Purity Made Simple Facial Cleansing Gel & Makeup Remover | $20 | Obsessed with this stuff.  Especially when used with my Clarisonic.  Works like a dream to remove the day from your face and stubborn mascara.  Totally refreshed every time.

Tocca Giulietta Eau de Parfum Roll-On  | .33oz $20 | I'm really loving these small roll-on fragrances which are ideal for trying out a new scent without committing to the big daddy, and perfect for traveling.  I also love being able to wear various scents instead of one every day.  Giulietta is light, floral and not too sweet... so heavenly!

What are your favorites products right now?!

More importantly... be safe East Coast!!

Enough with the Blah!

While I can't complain about the weather here in Denver (which is almost ALWAYS sunny), I will complain about the dryness.  Like, staticy hair, chapstick in every room and jacket pocket, thickest of thick hand lotions near by at all times...  My skin was starting to look a bit blah, so, while at Sephora with my sister, I was talked into making these purchases...

Photobucket

I wanted to share because I was stopped by two randoms last week to ask what skin products I use.  *blushing* My skin all the sudden, has a fresh glow to it!  I guess these sorts of products work after all.  I've been using the Clarisonic at night and for day, the Stila Tinted Moisturizer over my normal moisturizer for some light coverage, with the Tarte Blush & Glow on my cheek bones and ridge of my nose.  I can't pretend to really know what I'm talking about with skin care and products (I didn't even wash my face every night, until this fun contraption came along), so now I'd like to introduce my friend, Janine.

Photobucket

Janine is that girl that you WISH you could hate, strictly based on the fact that she's so naturally beautiful and has perfect hair (can you sense the bitterness?!), but then to top it off, she's so genuinely sweet, you can't help but love her.  Ugh!  :)   Janine has a blog that consists of her blunt and honest reviews of all sorts of beauty products... from sunless tanner, to mascara, to green juice recipes.  She focuses on the more natural, organic products that we ALL should be converting to.  It's like having a virtual bestie telling you what to try and what not to waste your time and money on.  Janine's Beauty Blog, add it to the list!

Nude Nail for Fall!

I LOVE the fall season. The crisp, cooler air, smell of the leaves, fall fashion! The layers and spicy tones and fur (faux of course) lined outerwear... love it all. But at almost 37 weeks pregnant, my wardrobe won't be participating just yet.

My nails, on the other hand, are ready to go!

I'm digging the nude because it's subtle and goes with everything. The colors are Leotard Optional by OPI and for a little shimmer on my ring finger, Wild About Shimmer by OPI.

10 Days till it's officially FALL!

Summer Twist!

I love me a messy, low bun (as I've already shared here) but this double sided, twisted, bun-ness is even easier to pull off and so perfect for summer!

This was found at Women's Health Magazine's website (who knew they gave hair tips!) and includes directions and a video tutorial. Give it a whirl!

A Messy Up-Do to LOVE!

I love a good messy up-do, so I'm obsessing over these pictures from one of my favorite blogs, Love Maegan.

She even provides a tutorial for this one here.

I was excited about that low bun, and then she threw in some braids?! PERFECTION. Of course, this style requires long hair with long bangs, both of which I do not have... yet. So instead I will admire through pictures, *sigh*.

Another AMAZING braided style here.

Drink Water.

Did you know that you're supposed to drink half of your body weight in ounces a day? That's a ton of water!

And because I'm a water snob, I'm always searching for water that is either infused with something delicious or comes in a really fancy bottle.

Photobucket

Sparkling Essence water by R.W. Knudsen is my lastest, greatest find. It's very subtle, refreshing flavor comes from organic fruits and has ZERO calories, added sugar or artificial ingredients. Blueberry and Mint are the way to go!

BellaPelle... and I'm still glowing!

Photobucket

I woke up this morning with my skin STILL glowing from last evening's facial. If you need a gift idea (this was another awesome birthday gift - THANKS Hulls!) or just need to treat yourself (and you should)... BellaPelle Skin Studio is perfect! I had the Specialty Facial, which was 75 minutes of pure bliss. Your esthetician does a thorough cleanse, evaluates your skin and any concerns, then goes to town! Their products smell AMAZING and really pamper your skin.
