Dress Up.

One of the few good things that have come from my week and a half of computer hell...  I have been working from the Cardinal Group offices and get to play dress up!

Button Down | Madwell (here)
Top | Banana Republic (old - similar here)
Pants | Gap (here)
Booties | Banana Republic (old - similar here)
Necklace | Loft (not shown online - similar here)
Watch | Michael Kors (old - similar here)

Please ignore the mess in the background. I'm standing in the sitting room off our master bedroom that will soon be turned into my first ever, walk in closet. (Ahhhhhhh, so stinkin excited!)  The quality of this photo is embarrassing.  So I recreated it for you...

I've worked from home for the past 4 years, so my work attire has diminished.  I've had to get pretty creative with what I'm working with, which I love.  And what a treat to actually get out of my PJs before 5pm!

Rustic & Sweet.

I can't believe it's taken me this long to post about this project.  I absolutely loved working on these invitations and am SO thrilled with the way they turned out.   Miss Kylie handled all of the assembling herself (bless her heart), so it was like Christmas morning waiting to get mine in the mail.

It's the perfect combo of rustic, sweet with the natural twine and twig thermography printing...

Do you love like I do? Congrats again Kylie & Patrick!

Gold Spikes.

A friend talked me into hosting a Trunk Show for Stella & Dot.  I had heard the name everywhere, being worn by celebs, but hadn't ever looked through a catalog or visited their website and... LOVE!  So many fun and affordable pieces.

I've been picking out my wish list items and posting them on my FB event page, but thought this one was blog worthy.  I love this Renegade Cluster Bracelet ($59!) paired with more conservative pieces.  Most looked a bit too hard core for me, but these sweet little gold spikes are perfect.

And one of my favorite bloggers from The Pink Peonies, has been sporting this sweet lil guy with everything...

See, spikes aren't so scary!  What is scary... the next 4 years :)

Come join us through the end of the month here.  And now, back to my 2 day long process of backing up my broken computer and setting up my new one.  Still smiling of course :)

Outfit Love.

I first took a screen shot of this pic posted by Nordstrom because I was diggin her haircut.  Then I quickly noticed how fabulous the beaded tank was under the chunky nordic sweater.  It's a bit unexpected mixing the prints and textures, but I love it!

I hope everyone had a great Halloween! The kiddies costumes being posted today are just too much.  Winslow kept her Busy Bee getup on for a full hour.  We were so proud :)

Happy Halloween!

There's a whole new appreciation for Halloween as a parent.  I can't wait to see the look on Boo's face when she sees all sorts of creatures show up at our door.  Here's a quick post about the Halloween scene in our home...

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!  Can't wait to see everyone's lil ones all dresses up.  I hope our lil one actually gets into her costume this evening.  Wish us luck!

Zara Home

It's true.

If you love Zara, as I do, you are in for such a treat.  As of October 9th, Zara Home opened up to the US online.  Every thing looks so lux, super girlie and just so scrumptious, while still completely affordable!

And of course, what I've picked out for myself :)

Add it to the wish list!  (East Coast... you're still in my prayers.  Be safe!)

My 5 Beauty Favs.

Josie Maran Argan Daily Moisturizer  | .5oz $14 |  This stuff is amazing.  Denver is insanely dry, so my skin and hair need serious moisture.  This goes on pretty light, but sinks right in and layers great with makeup.  Free of parabens, synthetic dyes and fragrances, sulfates and all sorts of other nasty stuff, and contains 40 SPF.  Love.

Too Faced Beauty Balm in Nude Glow | $32 | Another amazing product that I couldn't live without right now.  I've tried other Beauty Balms, but most left me looking grey and were super thick.  This one goes on much lighter and blends nicely.  On most days, this is the only thing that goes on my face. A multi-benefit BB cream that tints, primes, nourishes, prevents and protect skin in one easy step.

NARS Blush in Dolce Vita - Dusty Rose | $28 | I never go wild with blush, so I needed something subtle for everyday wear.  This blush is so pretty, with soft pink/bronze highlights and simply makes me look like I've been in the sun a bit too long.  A teeny bit goes a long way.

Philosophy Purity Made Simple Facial Cleansing Gel & Makeup Remover | $20 | Obsessed with this stuff.  Especially when used with my Clarisonic.  Works like a dream to remove the day from your face and stubborn mascara.  Totally refreshed every time.

Tocca Giulietta Eau de Parfum Roll-On  | .33oz $20 | I'm really loving these small roll-on fragrances which are ideal for trying out a new scent without committing to the big daddy, and perfect for traveling.  I also love being able to wear various scents instead of one every day.  Giulietta is light, floral and not too sweet... so heavenly!

What are your favorites products right now?!

More importantly... be safe East Coast!!

Furniture Updates.

We've been in our new house for 56 days now and it's finally coming together!!  With the help of my Dad (thank you, thank you, thank you!!), we replaced the lavender and hot pink walls that covered our master bed/bath, play room and sitting room with some beautiful light blue/grey shades.  Other than that the previous owners had insanely great taste, so we didn't have many renovations to get through.  Just the boring stuff, like replacing the boiler, radiators and pipes.  But I still fit in some fun updates with our furniture...

I can't say exactly where I got this piece but I know I didn't pay more than $40 for it.  It was in need of some love and didn't really have a home in the house yet.

So I sanded, primed and sprayed a couple coats of high gloss white paint.  She nows lives in the small sitting room off the kitchen!

My amazing in-laws sent out some old pieces from Michigan, that had been in storage at our old house, so we were so excited to finally have room for them!  While most pieces are beautiful antiques that I wouldn't dare touch, there were a few that needed a little bit of updating to fit our decor.  These came in a pair and I LOVED the shape of them.

I wanted a fabric that was a classic neutral but still fun.  I actually contemplated painting the wood white but I'm SO glad I didn't.  This Robert Allen fabric with the two-tone woodwork in the arms and legs... LOVE.  To rebuild the cushion and reupholster, it was just $60 each.  Seriously.

This duo now sits in the sunroom/piano room next to our new campaign table (kind of obsessed with it!)  Even though they don't get sat in much, I love looking at them as I pass through :)

If you have the time to do a little antique, second hand shopping, it's SO worth the time to find unique pieces at fractions of what you can find them for brand new in stores.  And nothing beats adding your own personality and flare to them!

For locals, I can't say enough good things about Steve over at Denver Upholstery.  He's the man, and I'll definitely be sending my next couple projects his way.  More furniture upholstery and a custom bench for the breakfast nook.  Stay tuned :)

Sweet Lily's Birth Announcement!

Look at this face!

We had to keep Lily's birth announcement design fairly simple since the picture made a big enough statement on its own.  I mean, how stunning is this baby girl?!

Pink, cream and white chevron... love!

F21 Finds.

It's always rewarding to walk out of Forever21 with some items you're excited about.  Usually a totally overwhelming experience that you have to have your head right for. It takes some serious patience to look through the racks and racks of mostly questionable clothing for girls half my age and size :)  BUT, last week, I found these pieces and I'm pumped...

Geometric mini skirt, faux leather panel pencil skirt, cropped sweater (which I've already worn a ton with a chambray button down and super long flowy blouses) and a glittery polka dot bag that I will find a need for eventually... all under $60.  Go me!

San Diego Wedding Details.

Dang, September 13th was my last post?!  Yikes.

Anyhoo... I'm so excited to share these photos by Lane Dittoe, from a wedding planned by my ridiculously talented friend and owner of Before I Do Events.  I was pumped to be able to provide all of print work for this stunning San Diego wedding.  It's always fun to see how they're used on the big day...

The blush flowers and raw silk napkins are to die for!  Check out more pics from this gorgeous wedding here.  And of course, CONGRATS to the new couple!!

Apple Onion Cinnamon Pork Chops

Yesterday was a rainy, chilly day in Denver and I loved it!  So I took the opportunity to make a super hearty, warm, delicious Fall meal from my new favorite paleo site, PaleOMG (found through a friend - it's amazing!)

Apple Onion Cinnamon Pork Chops over Crockpot Butternut Squash - seriously good!

Today is another insane day in my world, so I don't have time to type out the recipe, but you can find it here.  How good does that Pumpkin Granola look?!

Also went antique shopping with a friend and oh my goodness... so much amazing stuff. Picked up this vintage piece of old San Francisco (for $20!).  I'm trying it out in our open shelf kitchen, not sure if that's home.

Have a great day everyone!!

Dining Room Update

We've decided to update our dining room look by replacing our current wood chair and leather bench combo.  I've been searching high and low for the perfect side chairs to pair with our dark solid/rustic wood table and I've officially fallen in love...

How gorgeous are these?!  They're the Emeco Hudson Dining Chair and I'm obsessed.  I wake up thinking about the polished shine that I would DIE to see in my dining room everyday.  And the good news is they're on sale!!  The bad... they're on sale for $1,453/chair.  I don't think I'm going to be able to talk hubby into this one :(

The search continues!
