A little bit random.

This should explain how my mind functions these days... all over the place and totally random!

I can't stop staring at these Rebecca Minkoff sandals.  The light grey blue leather with the thick wood heel and gold detail... just gorg.  Do I go for it?!  It's almost my birthday, just saying.

Music on repeat right now... talk about random!

Emeli Sande - Maybe
ZZ Ward - Blue Eyes Blind
Imagine Dragons - Radioactive
Randy Houser - Runnin' Outta Moonlight
Fall Out Boy - My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark
Taylor Swift & Ed Sheeran - Everything Has Changed
Blake Shelton & Pistol Annies - Boys 'Round Here

In a bit more exciting news, for me at least, Worboys Design is finally getting its own office space.  So we've placed orders for some fun furnishings.  It should look something like this...

So excited, I can barely handle it.

Mommas!

To my Mom, Mother-In-Law, Step-Mom, Sister-In-Law and momma friends...

Thank you for being such incredible examples of the mother I'd like to be for Winslow.  I love you all so much and hope you know just how much you are adored, admired and appreciated.  Your support through the most challenging and wonderful 19 months of my life has been amazing.  Thank you for letting me complain about the hard days and share all of the sweet moments I've had with Winslow.  This parenting thing is no joke!

Happy Mother's Day to all of the mommas out there :)

Layering Statement Necklaces.

I love how much bigger and blingy-er :) the necklaces are becoming.  A fun way to achieve this mass of amazingness, is to wear a couple of them together.  The more random, the better!

Find these here & here (older style, similar here)

My favs...

L'amour de ma vie!

Rachel from Pink Peonies does is right.  She's super girly with a subtle touch of edge, whether it's a collection of spiky bracelets or camo skinnies.  This bold blocky print under the fitted leather jacket is one of my favs...

I've spent hours, maybe not hours, but many minutes trying to track down this sweatshirt, with no luck.  So I decided to make one myself...

I'm loving it under sweaters, alone with skinny printed jeans, with a floral printed scarf... I'm obsessed.  It was designed on UberPrints and showed up on my doorstep in 4 days.  The fabric isn't super duper high quality but the print is soft and for $30, I'll take it!

Look at me - a clothing designer.  Hardly.  But it was fun to recreate (with a slight change in text) and add a little something special to the bottom :)  I'm happy to order more for those of you who are digging this - just let me know.  I have a feeling I'm going to be playing around quite a bit on this site!

Holy Delicious.

Holy delicious.  That's all I've got to say about this smoothie.  Even Boo had some/poured it down her shirt.

Peach, Kale, Coconut Smoothie

1 cup frozen peaches
1 cup packed kale - stems discarded
1/2 frozen abanana
3/4 cup coconut water
1/2 tsp freshly grated ginger
1/2 tsp raw honey

Combine all ingredients and blend until smooth.  I also added a little plain yogurt and almond milk for added creaminess.  Oh my goodness, enjoy!

Just Perfect.

Sometimes all of the "extras" that are added to a wedding invitation takes away from its simple beauty.  I love a thoughtful design that fits the couple's personalities, in one color, on a super thick, high quality paper.

And that's exactly what we created in this invitation suite for Marie-France and Steven for their wedding this past Winter.  We think it's just perfect!

We would love to help you bring the print work for your wedding or any kind of celebration, to life.  Contact Worboys Design anytime!

Favorite Things.

A few my favorite things right now...

Faux flowers.

I love having flowers around the house.  But after the 5 days of perfection, they sit there, as a mess with pollen everywhere waiting to be cleaned up.  The cost of nice, high quality faux flowers is appalling.  So instead of $200+ (no joke!) on a vase of hydrangeas, I made my own.  Faux water and all.  Vase, flowers and craft water, were approx. $40 from Hobby Lobby.  Not all faux flowers are the same, so spend a little bit extra to get close to the real thing!

Magenta Lipstick.

Terrible, grainy picture, sorry!  I've never mastered the art of applying makeup to my eyes so I think it's really fun to go with an unexpected pop of color on your lips!  Also great when you have 5 minutes to change, do you hair/makeup and run out the door to dinner - my life these days.  I love, love, love this color for Spring - Makeup Forever in Satin Fushia. I've been wearing it with everything.

Leopard Heels.

I can't get enough of these heels!  I ordered them through Piperlime and they've sat in my closet for almost a year, waiting for the perfect outfit to wear them with.  I threw them on with a pretty basic, printless outfit I was wearing a couple months ago and now they're my "go-to".  I wear them with everything and anything.  They're especially fun when paired with a bold top or fun pattern.

What are your favs these days?!

Home Updates.

Holy forever it's been since I've posted to this poor blog.  I love it for so many reasons, so I'm going to try to get back at it!

Life has been absolutely crazy.  Just insane.  In mostly good ways, of course.  I've taken on some really fun & challenging new design projects, started working with an amazing new designer, have had family visits, traveled to see some dear friends, decorated the house, started Winslow in swim class, started exercising again... oh my goodness, the list goes on and on but I will spare you.

With all that is on my plate, we're still settling into our new home and working on projects here and there.  Since the first couple months were spent amongst the contractors painting and repairing and ripping up and installing, I don't think we had 30 seconds to stop and realize how incredibly lucky we are to call this home ours.  After searching for 7 months, we found her and she's absolutely perfect.  So, so blessed.

A couple updates to the house...

Added a mantel.

The living room fireplace before we covered the sweet little cut out with a TV (broke my heart but Hubbs HAD to have it!) and added the gas fireplace (because this icebox was built in 1918 )...

After, with the TV and fireplace...

Oh, Mr. Fireplace installer, we need a mantel to prevent the TV from melting?!  Thanks for the heads up.  Does cardboard work?  And yes, that's The Notebook :)

So thankful to have a friend like Travis at Reclaimed Design Works to help us pick out our mantel.  Such a cool showroom, I could hang out there all day, dreaming of ways to cover our home in this stuff!

We wanted something that wasn't wimpy but would fit in the small space under the TV and not take away from the tile work.  Here she is, off an old barn in Upstate NY :)  In all her glory... love, love love!

Built a walk-in closet.

The master bedroom had a beautiful sitting room off the bathroom, surrounded by windows and bright sunlight...  So beautiful.

BUT it only gave us a 4x4 closet to share.  Obvi that wasn't going to work!  So we closed up the wall to that teeny tiny closet and combined it with Winslow's room to create a bigger walk in for her.  Because every 1 year old needs a walk in closet, ha.  We threw down some carpet and designed a shelving layout that would work in that space while still allowing some sunlight to come through...

I love this space so much it's ridiculous...

Cozied up the breakfast nook.

Our kitchen is white.  Very white.  White walls, white marble counters, open white shelves, white chandelier.  And we love it!  But the breakfast nook, where we surprisingly eat a lot of meals, and its white cafe curtains, white bench and white chairs needed some coziness.

Nothing a thick grey/white striped cushion and bright pillows couldn't handle!

Custom cushions - Denver Upholstery | Pillows - West Elm

Next on the list... landscaping, putting up some artwork and decorating the basement.  Oye!

We already have so many special memories in the short 7 months we've been here, I can't WAIT to see what else goes down in this place!

Upholstery Heaven.

I have died and gone to reupholstery heaven.  Check out the before and after pictures from this beautiful arm chair passed down to us about a year ago.  The chair has the most amazing details, so I knew once we found the right fabric combo it would be such a special piece.  She arrived earlier this week and I'm so in love...

BEFORE

AFTER

We have quite a few patterns going on in our living room, with a saturated oriental rug, chevron ottoman and mediterranean tiled fireplace.  I wanted something simple and classic, so I picked a super soft and scrumptious Robert Allen cream velvet.  (Hubs, thinks I'm nuts with a dog and 15 month old! And I might be.)

Chunky throw and ombre pillow - WestElm

But I still wanted to do something unique with it, so check out her back side.  Surprise!!  I can't get enough of this navy and cream ikat print (found at DenverFabrics.com).

And the details... LOVE...

I just wish we were allowed to sit on this :)
