Stunning in White

Is there anything more striking than a crisp white bathing suit?

Since booking our trip to Maui and Kauai for September, I am now on the hunt! A couple pictures for inspiration...

Photo Journal: A Walk Through the Presidio

With not a single cloud in the sky yesterday, I couldn't resist a walk through the Presidio with my dog and my camera...

Philanthropist - Local Boutique combining Fashion & Philanthropy

Photobucket

I just came across this boutique online and realized they're right in my neighborhood!

THE CONCEPT FOR PHILANTHROPIST BEGAN IN A GROCERY STORE IN PACIFIC HEIGHTS. Philanthropist Founder Jessica Moment was doing her weekly shopping and came across a jar of Newman’s Own spaghetti sauce stating the company’s mission of donating 100% of its profits to charity. Jessica thought that this business model would be the perfect way to combine her passion for fashion with her commitment to philanthropy. The Philanthropist idea was born.

A ground-breaking integration of fashion and philanthropy, Philanthropist boutique is located in the posh Presidio Heights neighborhood in San Francisco. Philanthropist’s mix of chic, modern, and luxurious apparel and accessories combined with exceptional customer service are what keep clients coming back season after season.

One hundred percent of Philanthropist’s profits go directly to charities combating poverty within the Bay Area. Philanthropist believes that women derive great pleasure from both helping others in need and looking fabulous in their everyday lives. At Philanthropist the purchase of each beautiful piece is an act of compassion.

Such an incredible concept! The current charity benefiting from 100% of profits is The Legal Aid Society - Employment Law Center, which provides free legal services to low-wage and unemployed workers.

With designers like Vera Wang, Catherine Malandrino and Phillip Lim, it's pricey! But they do carry items by Splendid for the rest of us :) Support this boutique if you can!

BellaPelle... and I'm still glowing!

Photobucket

I woke up this morning with my skin STILL glowing from last evening's facial. If you need a gift idea (this was another awesome birthday gift - THANKS Hulls!) or just need to treat yourself (and you should)... BellaPelle Skin Studio is perfect! I had the Specialty Facial, which was 75 minutes of pure bliss. Your esthetician does a thorough cleanse, evaluates your skin and any concerns, then goes to town! Their products smell AMAZING and really pamper your skin.

Nicole Richie...

Photobucket

Since she was brought up amongst some girlfriends at dinner last night, I figured why not?!

Nicole Richie has always been my "go-to" for hairstyles to bring to the salon... short & sleek, messy bangs & braids, cool waves... But I like her for more than just her great hair styles. She pulls off loose, flowy, floral or patchwork dresses with Louboutin pumps or a cropped leather jacket effortlessly. Love it!

Hallelujah!

Photobucket

This is a big day in the life of the de Windts!

The tarps and scaffolding that have covered every window in our place for the PAST 2 MONTHS have been removed. FINALLY, we have natural light and our beautiful view of the Golden Gate back. The sun even came out for this momentous occasion!

Organic Vegan & Savory!

I dragged my husband to a 100% organic, vegan Mexican restaurant after church today. A friend had taken me there a few weeks ago and I haven't stopped craving it since!

Photobucket

Gracias Madre, on Mission and 18th, is tasty, inexpensive, has a cool vibe with silk screen artwork and changes your feelings about eating vegan.

We went with the Empanada del Dia, Enchilada con Mole, Kale/Cucumber/Celery juice and an extra side of their DELICIOUS black beans. If I could get past my dislike for celery, I'd say it was all amazing. (And my husband even said he'd come back again!)

Headed South for Sun!

Waking up to a foggy SF morning, forced us south for the day and thank goodness for that. It ended up being a great lil Saturday afternoon!

Hiked the warm Windy Hill trail in Portola Valley...

Photobucket

Had a late lunch in Woodside and overdosed on the most amazing warm bread. Back at our friend's home, we picked (well, he did the climbing and picking!) enough oranges to juice for the whole week. There's nothing better than the smell of citrus...

Photobucket

Finished off the day with a quick trip to the tennis courts to show off my new skills! If every Saturday was like today, I would not be upset :)

Mismatched & Charming

...just a sweet wedding gift we just received and wanted to share. I love these juice glasses so much! Thank you E&T!

Shakira - So Sassy!

Photobucket

And that's why I love her! She's one of those celebs that you'd want to be friends with.

Not typically a huge fan of hot pink (Megan, don't be mad!) but I'm loving the volume of this pink tulle skirt... out in the middle of the woods. So fun!

SF Symphony

I was lucky enough (or "spoiled" as some friends would say!) to celebrate my birthday AGAIN last night, with dinner & the symphony.

We walked down to Garibaldi's on Presidio for dinner. I give it a solid 8. Great wine (Inka, Pinot Noir), more buratta mozzarella, risotto croquets...yum! Running behind schedule, we rushed out the door to catch a cab to Davies Symphony Hall WITHOUT dessert. Believe it.

The show was "My Classic New World" with young, beautiful Alondra de la Parra conducting. The music was incredible... so pure, so impressive.

Find some time this summer to see a show {here}!

Fresh Flowers on Fillmore

Photobucket

After today's pilates class, I walked by a street side flower shop and couldn't resist these vibrant blue Hydrangeas. Look at that color!! I love bringing home fresh flowers to our apartment (and as soon as the construction on our house is done, we'll finally invite some friends over to enjoy them!)

Also snagged some White Oriental Lilies, Monks Hood and Hypericum to dress them up.

If you're in Cow Hollow in the late morning, stop by, they'll be putting all of their new flowers out!

Unexpectedly Delicious

Photobucket

Beretta's Panna Gelato with extra virgin olive oil & sea salt is to DIE for! Ate here with some friends the other night and was blown away. Highly recommend the margherita pizza with the melt in your mouth buratta mozzarella and of course this gelato. You wouldn't expect this concoction to work but it does. Perfectly sweet and salty.
